Zebra’s two inch thermal transfer desktop labels are for barcode printing that requires a ribbon. The surface of a thermal transfer label is not heat reactive but the ribbon from which the impression originates is. Zebra thermal transfer labels are also sometimes compatible with non Zebra barcode printers.
