Plain receipt paper is ideal for use in Impact and Inkjet receipt printers. Those printers either have a ribbon or an ink cartridge with which to transfer the black impression to the paper.
It can be noted that while plain receipt paper may feed through a thermal printer without any adverse side affects to the printer or print head, it will never correctly print. Plain receipt paper is not treated to respond to heat thus the resulting receipts will always print blank.
