Motorola built the LI4278 to use Bluetooth v2.1 Class 2 communications, giving you tremendous range, speed, and security. The effective radio range of the barcode scanner is 330 feet, so you can scan the products wherever they happen to be. Bluetooth v2.1 runs at a speed of 3 Mbit/sec, eliminating data transmission bottlenecks and promoting faster scanning. And scanned data is encrypted, preventing third parties from catching sensitive including customer name or patient information.
While ideal for retail scanning, the LI4278 is built strong enough for warehouse and some industrial applications. The sturdy scanner withstands drops of six feet to concrete, while gasket sealing prevents dust from harming internal components and allows the scanner to be sprayed down as needed.
