POSMicro Staff Notes: I prefer the Zebra 2824 and 2844 series barcode printers. There are many interface options
available in this series to satisfy every customer. Both the 2824 and 2844 can be purchased in either
Direct Thermal or Thermal Transfer option; providing labels that will last for years and even in harsh
environments (thermal transfer) or retail labels that only need to be around up to 6 months (direct
thermal). The difference between the 2824 and 2844 is the size of labels they can print. The 2844 with a
maximum print width of 4.09" is great for the customer that needs to print large labels and/or shipping
labels, and starting at $339.00 it is still a great value. The 2824 with a maximum print width of 2.2"
works great for retail locations who need smaller labels and starting at $232.00 it is a low cost barcode
printing solution.
